This is an excellent shoe. The 8mm logs will prevent you from any slipping, even in a rock garden. The material will prevent from absorbing water. If submerge the shoe is made in a way to prevent from any sand or dirt to het in the shoe. You need to go half size up in order to fit well. If you like a wider foot box, this not your shoe.I had the first edition of these trainers and they were perfect for obstacle course racing. Quite a small fit width wise and if you are wearing thick socks with them it might be advisable to go half a size up
