Awesome awesome shoe for hiking and even walking, but slightly more narrow than expected.Seem to be quality and the price was good will probably buy a second pairThis is my second pair of black diamonds.First being their circuit approach shoe. The mesh allowed for flexibility and some stretching. The prime model, being suede, is a stiffer shoe and I found them uncomfortable in the same size. I returned the 11.5 pair and bought them again from a different seller.It’s a very unique look and I’m happier now having a bit more space. People with wide toe box needs might want to look elsewhere for a better fitI scrambled through Boulder canyon and they worked excellentThese babies are comfy, the suede looks cool (still holding up, I treated whether needed or not), and most importantly they work well as an approach shoe.This shoe fitted soo small, it should have been marked a size or two smaller…Fits a little on the small side. But other than that love this show, comfortable and sharp looking.I recommend the prime approach shoes. The positive description is well deserved. I purchased a second pair within weeks of my first purchase. I can’t speak to the long term durability of the approach shoes, but I have no complaints thus far. I have used them as casual shoes trekking around town all day in rain, light mud, light snow and look forward to using them for light trail shoes/back up camping shoes. After a almost 2 months I am still very pleased. I hope they last for years to come. I did spray them with a waterproofing spray immediately as I do with most shoes. I don’t know if I needed to treat them. I figure better safe than sorry…the waterproofing spray made them a fraction darker than they arrived. The color change is barely noticeable if at all. Based on my experience so far I would recommend them to friends. Keep in mind they are definitely light but comfortable. I don’t expect them to perform well for significant trail shoes. Otherwise, I pleased. Keep in mind the sole is very thin. You will feel the terrain. They have exceeded expectations so far. I hope to provide additional feedback in the months to come. Hope this helps. No need to break them in as with most footwear.
